The University of Prince Edward Island, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, has openings for sessional instructors for the Fall 2025 semester for two sections of the following course:

ENGN-1210 Engineering Communications

This course is the first in a series of design courses structured to foster development toward becoming a professional engineer. It provides a basic introduction to the profession, to the design process, and to the way that engineers communicate through drawing, writing, speaking, and presenting. Students learn about the engineering design process by completing simple engineering design projects in a team-based environment. There is a strong focus on computer-aided drawing and the design process. Three hours of lecture and three hours of design studio per week.

This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Qualifications:

Qualified individuals must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline. A Master’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience in mechanical engineering discipline, would be considered a strong asset. Candidates should be registered as a Professional Engineer in Prince Edward Island. Professional engineering experience is expected and will be an important consideration in the selection process.

Note: members of the sessional roster and full-time and term contract faculty members of the FSDE will be given priority.
