Student Research Assistant - Applied Veterinary Epidemiology - Department of Health Management - Atlantic Veterinary College
$21.20 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
May 5, 2025 to August 29, 2025
The Department of Health Management is seeking a graduate research student to assist with a funded research project which is focused on harmonizing a fish health management plan for Atlantic Canada. This Individual will assist with a literature review and summarization, as well as potential work with survey question input and analysis, and basic statistical analytics. Individuals with research experience will be considered. Assets include having good knowledge of fish health and diseases, antimicrobial treatments and stewardship, and previous research experience in applied epidemiology, literature review and analysis, and strong writing and research skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with literature review and summarization
- Assist with survey question input and analysis
- Basic statistical analytics
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a current UPEI student
- Excellent knowledge of fish health diseases, and particularly those affecting aquaculture reared salmonids
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail
- Excellent analysis and writing skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Experience with literature searches and reviews are an asset
