UPEI is seeking applications from qualified individuals to provide timely and efficient accounting, financial and budget analysis support for the Comptroller’s Office. These positions collaborate closely with department heads, faculty members, and administrative staff to ensure accurate financial reporting and budget management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Budget oversight and management, including:
  • Assist in the development of the University’s annual operating budget
  • Develop, monitor, and provide budget oversight for faculties and administrative units 
  • Provide detailed budget forecasts and financial planning 
  • Monitor and reconcile capital project activity
  • Prepare detailed budget proposals and external reporting for restricted grants
  • Provide training and support on the University’s financial platform 
  • Provide support and guidance on financial matters to budget holders within faculties, and academic support and administrative units
  • Financial analysis with attention to details and deadlines, including:
  • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Evaluate financial performance
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership and administrative staff 
  • Preparation of monthly and year-end reconciliations

QUALIFICATIONS: 
 

  • CPA designation with an undergraduate degree in business
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, including 3 years post-designation
  • Proven experience in budget management and financial reporting
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written
  • Advanced Excel, analytical and problem-solving skills
