Message to students about travel over Thanksgiving/during Fall Break

The following message was distributed to current students on October 7, 2020, via their @upei.ca emails, as well as posted on the UPEI website and UPEI SAFE app.

Dear students,

As we approach Thanksgiving weekend and Fall Reading Week (October 12–16), it is understandable that those of you currently on Prince Edward Island may be considering travelling out of the Atlantic region to visit family and friends.

This message from the Office of the Vice-President Academic and Research was distributed to UPEI students, faculty, and staff on September 25, 2020 to their @upei.ca emails. While we will continue to update our COVID-19 website, the latest news will be first shared with the UPEI community by email and on UPEI SAFE, the University’s safety app (available on The App Store and Google Play). "My clinical placements helped me realize my passion for working with vulnerable individuals."

What brought you to UPEI? Why did you choose to study here?

I'm from Kensington, PEI and I moved away for my first year and went to Acadia. Unfortunately, during my first year I lost my older brother and wanted to move home to be closer to family, friends, and supports. I wanted to apply to nursing, so I was happy to be able to do it at UPEI and stay close to my friends and family.

Coffee Chats with the President

Join UPEI President Wendy Rodgers for casual "coffee chats" at The Fox & Crow in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre on Monday, October 19 from 9:00-10:00 am.

These coffee chats offer a relaxed setting where any member of the UPEI community can drop by, grab a drink, and chat with Wendy about anything on your mind. Whether you want to share ideas, ask questions or simply say hello, these chats are a great way to connect with the president in a comfortable and informal environment.
