National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - no classes

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - no classes on Tuesday, September 30.

September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also referred to as Orange Shirt Day—a day to “honour Survivors, their families, and communities, and ensure that public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process.” (Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada).

At UPEI, we have a responsibility to support and advance Truth and Reconciliation (TRC) on September 30 and throughout the year.

The UPEI Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation is hosting a free public education program titled “Coastal Conversations: Understanding, Adapting, Acting” about the challenges and solutions shaping PEI’s changing coastline—from erosion and climate impacts to erosion monitoring techniques and the work of watershed groups.

The sessions, which are happening across the province, are open to everyone.
