Aislyn Logan-Savage and Jakob Robillard named UPEI Panther Ladner’s Source for Sports Athletes of the Week
Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Ladner’s Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for October 5–11 are Aislyn Logan-Savage (women’s rugby) and Jakob Robillard (men’s hockey).
Aislyn Logan-Savage is a first-year sociology student from Moncton, New Brunswick. She made her presence felt on both sides of the ball, delivering several punishing tackles and hard-fought carries during the October 9 game against the Acadia University Axewomen. Her impact extended to the scoreboard, where she added seven points with two conversions and a penalty goal.
“Aislyn delivered a tenacious performance, consistently setting the tone with dominant tackles and powerful carries,” said Curtis Lauzon, UPEI Women’s Rugby head coach. “Her physicality and determination had a significant impact on the match, while her accuracy off the tee added another dimension to her performance, converting two tries and a penalty.”
Jakob Robillard is a fourth-year business student from Rockland, Ontario. He delivered a strong weekend between the pipes, turning aside 58 shots across two games to help the Panthers earn a road split. His performance was highlighted by a 4-2 victory over the Acadia University Axemen on October 9, and he finished the weekend with a .907 save percentage.
“Robi has been outstanding through our first two games. He played a key role in our win over Acadia, stepping up with some big saves in crucial moments, especially when we were down two men,” said Forbes MacPherson, UPEI Men’s Hockey head coach.
