Lunch and Learn: What are Executive Functions?
Accessibility Services invites colleagues to our Lunch and Learn session, “What are Executive Functions,” in the Teaching and Learning Centre, Robertson Library Annex, room 230. Learn about executive functions, what they look like in action, and effective supports and strategies for instructors, staff and students. Specifically, the session will cover prioritizing and goal selection; planning and organizing; working memory; attention and flexibility; self-regulation; inhibition and initiation; and execution and goal attainment.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), joined forces with the four other Canadian veterinary schools in January to host the first-ever Canadian Veterinary College alumni reception at the 2025 Veterinary Meeting and Expo (VMX) in Orlando, Florida.
UPEI Health and Wellness Centre first stand-alone university health centre to earn full accreditation
On January 6, 2025, the UPEI Health and Wellness Centre became the first stand-alone university health centre to earn full accreditation from Accreditation Canada. Achieving full accreditation allowed the centre to be surveyed against national standards and by its peers and ensures the Centre has the fundamentals of safety and quality in place.

I am pleased to announce the Board of Governors approved the appointment of Tim Walker as the University of Prince Edward Island’s new Vice-President, Administration and Finance (VPAF) at its meeting on February 6, 2025. He will join the University on April 14, 2025.

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for February 3–9, 2025, are Devon Lawlor (women’s basketball) and Kyree Thompson (men’s basketball).
UPEI hosts members of the Senate of Canada
UPEI was pleased to host members of the Senate of Canada on February 5 and 6.
On Wednesday, February 5, Honourable Brian Francis, Honourable Jane MacAdam, and Honourable Mary Robinson toured the UPEI Faculty of Medicine and Interprofessional Health Training Centre, accompanied by UPEI representatives Chancellor Diane Griffin, President and Vice-Chancellor Wendy Rodgers, and Dean Preston Smith and Associate Dean Peter MacPherson, Memorial Faculty of Medicine, PEI Regional Campus. Joining the tour were members of Senator MacAdam’s and Senator Robinson’s staff.
