ART for the Soul Drop In

Art for the Soul (drop in) Drop in Art - bring your own supplies and take some time to create! pencils, crayons, paint, knitting, etc... all are welcome! No prior experience necessary This is an open event, bring your own art supplies and take a few minutes for yourself! You do not need to be creative to participate, just have an interest in expressing yourself!  This is the 2nd event - bring your ideas and suggestions for future Art for the Soul meetings!  Open to Staff, Students, and Faculty

Official Opening– Nautilus Biosciences’ Robotic Screening Lab

You are invited to join Nautilus Biosciences, members of the PEI Bioscience Cluster, and International guests for a ribbon-cutting and official opening of Nautilus Biosciences as Croda's Centre of Innovation for Marine Biotechnology on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 10:00am in the DRC Lobby. Be a part of this exciting event for the UPEI spin-off company and learn how PEI is building capacity within the biotechnology community.  Tours of the high throughput robotic screening lab will follow the speakers. Special guest speakers will include: Sandra Breene, President, Personal Care, Croda International PLC; Honourable Robert Mitchell, Minister of Health and Wellness; Dr Alaa Abd-El-Aziz, President, UPEI; and Dr Russell Kerr, Research Fellow, Nautilus Biosciences.  

The Fourth Annual Blessed John Henry Newman Dinner

The Blessed John Henry Newman Dinner is an evening hosted by the University of Prince Edward Island’s Catholic Studies program and the Canadian Catholic Students’ Association. Its aim is to honour the Catholic heritage of UPEI’s founding institution, St. Dunstan’s University, as well how the Catholic intellectual and ministerial traditions continue to serve today’s students on the UPEI campus. Each year the Dinner recognizes its annual Newman Fellow, an academic or ecclesial leader, whose distinguished career flows from the spirit of Cardinal Newman’s ministry, commitment, and contribution to Catholic higher education.  Proceeds from the event support joint educational initiatives of Catholic Studies and the CCSA.   RECEPTION 6:15 pm DINNER 7:00 pm   TICKETS AVAILABLE www.newmandinner.com

Tonight! Ghost Stories in Dalton Hall

The Campus Life Program invites you all to join us on the 5th floor of Dalton Hall on Halloween Night in the Mawi'omi and Campus Life Lounge to hear the Ghost Stories of UPEI and Beyond. Dr Ed MacDonald will share his research and let us know why Dalton Hall just might be haunted!  Do you have a spooky story? Come and share! We'll begin with stories from 6pm - 7pm, then continue the night with Halloween themed activities. Snacks will be provided.

World Diabetes Day

Please join Martha St. Pierre, Provincial Diabetes Coordinator and Diabetes Educator with Health PEI, at the UPEI Health & Wellness Centre on World Diabetes Day, November 14th from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Take the CANRISK Tool to determine your risk for developing diabetes. We can do a random blood glucose and provide you with your results at the point of care. The UPEI Health & Wellness Centre is located at the W.A. Murphy Building North, 2nd floor (above the bookstore).
