3rd Annual Palmer Conference

Public-and-private sector leaders from across the country will gather at UPEI this week for a discussion about policy and practice with regards to immigration in Canada. The Palmer Conference gathers the finest minds in the country to discuss issues of high priority to the public sector and to Canada. This year’s theme is “Canada as a Leader in Immigration Policy and Practice.”

UPEI offers cycling, rowing and TRX classes To register for any session (6 classes/session), please go to the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre front desk. All participants must pay by cash or cheque to secure their spot. All user-pay classes are non-refundable and classes cannot be switched to another session once the sessions begin. Registration is on a first come, first pay basis.

NSO Welcome Day

UPEI is gearing up to welcome incoming first-year students with a number of services and support offerings available on Saturday, September 1 from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. For the first time, the University will host New Student Orientation (NSO) Welcome Day, to give students and their families a chance to get oriented to campus and meet a number of staff and faculty who will support them throughout their university studies. AVC Open House

The Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island will hold its 24th annual Open House on Saturday, September 29, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Organized and run by AVC students, this event is free to the public and offers a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes at a veterinary medical school. Visitors will see many demonstrations and exhibits, including a parade of dog breeds, some unusual animals at a mini-zoo, a painted cow and horse, and much more. Children can bring their favourite stuffed toys for a check-up and treatment at the Teddy Bear Clinic. And they can have their faces painted, learn how to gown and glove for surgery, participate in their own Stick Horse Rodeo, and reel in some cool prizes at the fish pond. Recognition of Founders

Join the UPEI community on Friday, September 28 for the 13th annual Recognition of Founders in the UPEI Quad with a reception following in McMillan Hall. Recognition of Founders is a day dedicated to honouring UPEI`s rich heritage and traditions by acknowledging people who have contributed to it in an exceptional way. AVC's Green Hat award, honouring those who have made a significant and positive impact on the Atlantic Veterinary College will be presented as an important component of Recognition of Founders.
