The MAIS program invites everyone to “Tasmania Dreaming,” highlighting the connections between two islands: Prince Edward Island and Tasmania. The panel discussion and readings feature two guests from Tasmania, poet Jane Williams and publisher Ralph Wessman, along with PEI Poet Laureate Dianne Hicks Morrow and UPEI's Deirdre Kessler, who participated in the PEI-Tasmania Writers' Exchange sponsored by the Department of English and the Institute of Island Studies. The evening will be hosted by Island Studies scholar and MAIS Interim Co-ordinator Laurie Brinklow. Join us on a journey of our two islands through poetry and photos, and talk about the attraction we have for one another: two islands that are poles apart.
“Tasmania Dreaming” will be held at the Haviland Club, December 3, 7:00-9:00 pm. Admission is by donation. Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information, please contact Laurie Brinklow at brinklow@upei.ca, or (902) 894-2881.

At the Chaplaincy Centre, thoughts are with the students during exam time, their success, and yes, of course, the chili dinner.
On the first two days of exams - Wednesday and Thursday, December 3 & 4 -between 11:30 am–1:30 pm, a chili dinner is served at the Chaplaincy Centre, free for the students. About 300 students show up each day with smiles and conversation on this busy week. We are looking for faculty and staff to help out and provide encouragement for students on their exams.
