L.M. Montgomery Institute's 16th biennial conference takes place June 19 to 23
The L.M. Montgomery Institute hosts its 16th biennial conference, titled L.M. Montgomery and the Politics of Home, from June 19 to 23. During the conference, participants will discuss crucial questions about L.M. Montgomery and the Politics of Home. Politics and home inform who and how we are in the world. L.M. Montgomery was formed by the cultural and domestic politics of her time and place, and she engaged those politics in her work, alongside the ubiquitous motif of home.
National Indigenous Peoples Day
The month of June in Canada has been officially acknowledged as National Indigenous History Month since 2009, in recognition of the rich history, heritage, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

UPEI faculty member receives $1.65 million from NSERC CREATE program for climate change-related agriculture project
Dr. Xander Wang, an associate professor with the UPEI School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has been awarded $1.65 million from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)’s Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program for a project called “NSERC CREATE Training Network for CLImate Smart Agriculture (CLISA).”
