What brought you to UPEI? Why did you choose to study here?
After high school I applied to various universities and was accepted, but ultimately decided to stay in my home country of Mauritius to pursue a civil engineering degree. But I felt something was missing, and I craved a more "hands-on" experience and a bigger picture of engineering.

Inspirational bald eagle finds new home and fame at Hope for Wildlife Centre
In October 2021, bald eagle 450 was brought to the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the University of Prince Edward Island after it was injured in a presumed car accident. It was in critical shape, with spinal cord trauma among its injuries. To help save the bird’s life, the staff at AVC performed groundbreaking spinal cord surgery, only the second of its kind in the world.
UPEI hosts open house at new residence building
UPEI is holding a Sneak Peek open house on Saturday, August 12, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the new Performing Arts Centre and Residence building.
The event offers a chance to tour the new residence. Whether you are a student moving into residence in the fall or part of an organization looking to rent space for an event, you are welcome to drop by for a sneak peek at the tallest building in Charlottetown. Attendees will be able to take the elevator to the ninth floor for a commanding view of Charlottetown and beyond.
Research seminar by Dr. Roman Belli
The UPEI Department of Chemistry invites the campus community to a research seminar by Dr. Roman Belli, Postdoctoral Research Associate, University of Minnesota, who will present "Mechanism-Guided Design for Developing and Improving Catalytic Reactions."
Dr. Belli is a candidate for a tenure-track faculty position in Inorganic Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry.

The UPEI Department of Chemistry invites the campus community to a research seminar on August 14 by Dr. Trevor Clark, Postdoctoral Fellow, Simon Fraser University, who will present "Effective use and integration of HRMS metabolomics for the annotation and discovery of natural products."
