Every year in February, UPEI celebrates Black History Month, an opportunity to reflect on the contributions, resilience, triumphs, and the legacy of Black Canadians who have shaped our society. It is also a time to recognize that much more needs to be done to dismantle the systemic barriers that adversely impact Black communities.

The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) Global Women’s (and Allies) breakfast (GWB) will be held at The Fox & Crow, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, on February 10, 2026, from 7:30–9:30 am.
UPEI Engineering students win at 2026 Atlantic Engineering Competition
Ten UPEI Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) teams, totalling 34 students, competed at the 2026 Atlantic Engineering Competition (AEC), held from January 17–19, 2026, at Dalhousie University’s Sexton Campus.

Forbes names UPEI one of Canada’s Best Employers in 2026
The University of Prince Edward Island has been named one of Canada’s Best Employers in 2026 by Forbes.
Forbes released the 2026 list on January 20. UPEI placed 47th out of 300 Canadian employers on the list. The Government of Prince Edward Island was the only other employer from the province to make the list.
Meet the Veterans Affairs Canada Student Ambassador at UPEI
Would you like to learn more about employment opportunities with the federal government? The Veterans Affairs Canada Student Ambassador at UPEI will help you access federal employment opportunities and navigate the application process for student programs like the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP). He will assist with inquiries related to Veterans Affairs Canada and offer advice on securing federal positions after graduation. The Student Ambassador will be in Dalton Hall, Room 211, every Wednesday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.
