Island Lecture Series presentation explores PEI tourism from Islanders’ perspective

Dr. Susan Graham, associate professor of marketing at UPEI, will give a lecture titled “Authentic Prince Edward Island Tourism Experiences: What Locals Have to Say” on November 21, at 7 pm, Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building, UPEI.

Graham’s lecture is part of the 2023 island Lecture Series, presented by the Institute of Island Studies at UPEI.

8:00 pm: The UPEI Men’s Basketball Panthers (3-3) host the Saint Mary’s University Huskies (1-5) at the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre.

Lexie Murphy and Kaleb Pearson named UPEI Panther Athletes of the Week

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Athletes of the Week for November 6–13 are Lexie Murphy (women’s hockey) and Kaleb Pearson (men’s hockey).

Murphy is a science student from Kensington, PEI. The fourth-year forward broke out of her scoring slump during a game on November 10 when she scored two goals in a 4-2 win over the Mount Allison University Mounties.

UPEI Faculty of Medicine secures temporary office space

The University of Prince Edward Island has secured space at 155 Belvedere Avenue, Suite 202 (the former Island Coastal location) to house the Faculty of Medicine faculty and staff while the new UPEI facility is under construction at the north end of campus. The new Faculty of Medicine and Interprofessional Health Training Centre building is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2025.

UPEI Self-Care Fair for students, staff, and faculty

Come out and take care of YOU at the UPEI Self-Care Fair on Wednesday, November 22, between 10:00 am–2:00 pm in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre. Visit over 20 informative and interactive booths that will focus on self-care including acupuncture, reflexology, reiki, body composition scanning, reflexology, blood pressure/glucose testing, COVID-19 vaccine boosters, nutrition, mental health, physical activity, and more. There will be free food and prizes. We will also accept non-perishable food donations in support of the UPEI Campus Food Bank.
