UPEI set for 2026 New Year's Day Levee
Representatives from the University of Prince Edward Island and UPEI Alumni Association, along with the Board of Governors and Student Union, will greet guests at the annual UPEI New Year’s Day Levee.
The UPEI Levee is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the company of the campus community, meet new people, and exchange good wishes for the New Year.
The festive tradition will take place on Thursday, January 1, 2026, from 11:00 am–12:30 pm at the UPEI’s Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering building on the UPEI campus. A lunch and cash bar will be provided. All are welcome!

Action Plan IMPACT: Creating the foundation to fuel student engagement
Action 1 under Goal 3 (Improve UPEI’s campus culture) in the UPEI Action Plan is to “Create a culture of listening at UPEI.” It’s an all-encompassing objective that aims to create a healthy and safe workplace culture for faculty and staff and to improve the student experience through engagement and seeking feedback.

Westisle Composite High School students raise funds to support MSX research at UPEI
Students at Westisle Composite High School have donated $1,300 to UPEI for research into MSX (Multinucleate sphere unknown), a disease in oysters caused by a parasite called Haplosporidium nelsoni.
The students raised the funds at an educational seminar they organized on November 27 to raise awareness about the virus and to help UPEI with its research on MSX. Attended by about 50 people, the event featured guest speakers, live music, door prizes, a 50-50 draw, and a hospitality table.
