Research Presentation: Community-Based Learning for International Graduate Students

Members of the campus community are invited to join Dr. Linyuan Guo-Brennan and Dr. Charlene VanLeeuwen for a research presentation community-based learning and international students.  The presentation will be approximately 45 minutes followed by a 10 minute question period.  

Increased global mobility has allowed more and more students to pursue graduate education overseas, and many are engaged in community-based learning (CBL) through formal or informal educational opportunities.

Franklin Pigot Memorial Lecture Series presents: Creating the University of Prince Edward Island

The next talk in the Franklin (Frank) Pigot Memorial Lecture Series at UPEI will explore how the spirit of the 1960s shaped the University. On Thursday, September 26, Dr. Alan MacEachern will present “A Child of the ’60s: Creating the University of Prince Edward Island” at 7:00 pm in the Faculty Lounge of SDU Main Building.

Join Student Affairs in learning how “Bringing in the Bystander” empowers bystanders to prevent sexual violence safely and effectively. We all have a role to play in ending sexual violence!

Creating a Little Book of Dreams: writing workshop

Dr. Terry Whitebeach is an esteemed Australian young adult novelist, biographer and historian, poet, creative writing mentor, community developer, and social activist from Tasmania. She will be the UPEI Writer in Residence this fall semester. Her residency is sponsored by the UPEI Dean of Arts, the Institute of Island Studies, and UPEI’s English Department.

Dr. Whitebeach will lead a creative writing workshop on Saturday, October 5, from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, at UPEI.
