UPEI Multicultural Song Circle

The UPEI Multicultural Song Circle meets every Tuesday in the SDU Main Building Faculty Lounge from 4:30 - 5:30 pm. This is a non-audition singing group that shares songs of the many cultures and countries on the UPEI campus for fun, friendship, relaxation, and music-making. All students, staff, faculty and community are welcome--come when you can! 

Information Session: New Master of Arts in Island Tourism degree

Announcing a new course-based Master's in Island Tourism at UPEI, starting in August 2018. This is your opportunity to obtain a graduate degree in the expanding field of tourism, applied specifically to islands. Using primarily online courses for your convenience, this two-year program incorporates two work-study courses working directly with tourism organizations. Scholarships and bursaries are available. Learn more about this exciting new degree program at two information sessions on Thursday, January 25, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm and again from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, in Rm. 243 Don and Marion McDougall Hall. Robertson Library Movie Talks

Join us in January for Robertson Library Movie Talks. Each week will highlight a timely movie available through the Library’s video collections. There will be a discussion after each movie led by an interdisciplinary panel of UPEI faculty, staff, students, and community members. Our next documentary, UnSlut: A Documentary Film, “features conversations with those who have experienced sexual shaming, including the family and friends of Rehtaeh Parsons”, and will be presented on Monday, January 29, Robertson Library LINC, Room 265, 7:00-9:00 pm. The panelists for UnSlut: A Documentary Film are Ann Braithwaite, PhD and Nia Phillips, PhD. Soup for the Soul 2018

Join the campus community for 2018's first Soup for the Soul; warm-up with some Chicken and Rice soup or Lentil Soup as the vegetarian option. This year we are connecting with the Bell Let's Talk initiative to amplify our efforts aimed at promoting healthy eating and mental health awareness! Also connecting with Soup for the Soul is Kettle Black, a local student-run business that will provide the chef and food for this event on Wednesday, February 7 from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm in the UPEI Chaplaincy Centre.

Postponed: Dr. Frances Gray Performance Competition Recital

POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER: The UPEI Department of Music's annual Dr. Frances Gray Performance Competition Finals Recital that was originally scheduled to occur on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 7:30 pm at the Dr. Steel Recital Hall will now take place Saturday, February 3 at 4:00 pm in the same location. This year's competition theme is contemporary music and five finalists from a pool of eleven outstanding performances have been selected for the finals. The performers include Ryan Drew (percussion), Alexandra Smith (mezzo soprano), Taylor Poirier (alto saxophone), Leah Jordan (clarinet), and Johanna Vessey (clarinet). Collaborative pianists, Frances McBurnie and Morgan Saunier, will be assisting these soloists. The evening will conclude with the presentation of awards as determined by the competition's panel of adjudicators: Donald Fraser, Kay Linkletter, Wendy Shilton, Lloyd King, and Louis Garson. Tickets are available at the door. Seniors & adults $15 Students $10 ​
