Global Village celebration takes place at UPEI on November 30

The UPEI campus community is invited to attend the annual Global Village celebration on Saturday, November 30, in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, starting at 3:30 pm.

Global Village is a celebration of the multiculturalism and diversity that exists at UPEI. Students from all over the world will showcase their culture and traditions, as well as encourage cultural sensitivity and a global perspective.

Nicholas Busch and Megaria Halim will perform on the SDU Stage in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall on November 29, 2024, at 7:30 pm.

Visions de l'amen is a suite of seven pieces for two pianos by Olivier Messiaen. Come and experience the richness of harmony, colour, and intensity in this performance!

The first 250 students will each receive a $5 voucher to spend at their favourite vendor.

Kristina Kupferschmidt: Using Machine Learning to Forecast Changes in Canada’s Food Prices

Kristina Kupferschmidt, who has recently joined the School of Mathematics and Computational Sciences, will be giving a talk on Friday at noon entitled "Using Machine Learning to Forecast Changes in Canada’s Food Prices: Canada’s Food Price Report 2025" as part of the Atlantic Canada Data Science Tour.

Institute of Island Studies hosts knitting and storytelling event on December 3

The Institute of Island Studies at UPEI will host a “Yarns and Yarns” event focusing on knitting and storytelling on northern islands on December 3, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, at The Gallery Coffee House and Bistro, 82 Great George Street, Charlottetown.

UPEI Action Plan Check-In

As we continue on our journey to build a culture of safety, trust, and inclusion, Dr. Wendy Rodgers, President and Vice-Chancellor, invites you to attend the UPEI Action Plan Check-In on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the Performing Arts Centre theatre (PAC121S) from 1:30–2:30 pm.

This in-person meeting will be an opportunity to hear about the progress we are making with regard to the UPEI Action Plan and implementation plans as well as provide your feedback, as we make the changes needed to move forward, live our values, and achieve our mission.

Join the Institute of Island Studies in person or online on December 3, 1-2 pm, for “Yarns and Yarns,” an hour of knitting and storytelling on northern islands, when we will discuss and demonstrate island knitting traditions that focus on mittens.
