Chemistry Seminar

Dr. Anthony Tong, Department of Chemistry, Acadia University will present a seminar on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 12:30 pm. Dr. Tong’s presentation is entitled Chemistry in Wastewater Treatment. The seminar will be held in the Regis and Joan Duffy Research Centre, Lecture Theatre, Room 212.

Research Presentation: Evolving culture of Education on PEI

Join us Thursday, March 26 at 4:30 pm in room 242 of UPEI’s Don and Marion McDougall Hall for a presentation about the evolving culture of education on PEI. A group of graduate students in Dr. Tess Miller’s Quantitative Statistics course will present their findings from a broad-reaching survey of Islanders about social promotion, large-scale assessment, the role of parents in education, mathematics, aboriginal culture, and leadership.

Jazz Ensemble Concert

The UPEI Jazz Ensemble will present their spring concert on Tuesday, March 31 at 7:30 pm at the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, UPEI. Under the direction of David Shephard the band will once again be joined by singers from the UPEI vocal studio. Featured vocalists will be Olivia Barnes, Alexandra Smith, Leah Inman, Travis Boudreau, Jillian Clow and Parker Clements. Band members who will be featured as soloists are trombonist Dan MacDonald on Someone to Watch Over Me and saxophonist Emily Proude will be the soloist on the jazz standard Lover Man. Other tunes will include When You’re Smilin’, Mack the Knife, Send in the Clowns, Somewhere from West Side Story and hits from the 1970’s Knock on Wood and Send in the Clowns.
