Winter's Tales: Douglas Gibson - Editor Extraordinaire
Douglas Gibson, Alice Munro’s editor and publisher, will give a presentation at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery on Thursday, March 6 at 7:30 pm. He will share stories about his experiences of editing and publishing a who’s who of Canadian authors, including Alistair MacLeod, Pierre Trudeau, Hugh MacLennan. Robertson Davies, and W.O. Mitchell.
Gibson will also sign copies of his new book, Stories About Storytellers, which Alice Munro called "my prize read for those interested in writers, Canada, life."
The evening with Canada’s most famous literary editor is co-hosted by the UPEI English Department and Confederation Centre Art Gallery, with funding from The Canada Council for the Arts.

Graduate Research on Tap
At the next Graduate Research on Tap, join two UPEI graduate students for discussions about the language of rats and how island fishing communities are learning to adapt.
The event begins at 7 pm, Tuesday, February 25 in the Wave in the W. A. Murphy Student Centre at UPEI.
The first discussion will be led by Daphne Gill, a recent post doctoral fellow in Biomedical Sciences. The title of her discussion is "What do the rats say? Investigating rat communication."
Emily Thomas, a student in the Masters of Island Studies program, will lead the second discussion, entitled "Dragged and Trapped: An examination of island fishing communities in Newfoundland and Maine.”
