Nurse practitioner-led group health visits aim to improve access to diabetes care in Prince Edward Island

Adults on Prince Edward Island who are living with Type 2 diabetes and do not currently have a primary care provider are invited to participate in a research study evaluating a new approach to delivering diabetes care.

Led by researchers at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) in partnership with Health PEI, this study will examine the feasibility of nurse practitioner (NP)-led interprofessional group health visits as a model to improve access, continuity, and team-based care for individuals living with diabetes.

Queer Networking at PrideFest '26

UPEI's Experiential Education is hosting the 3rd annual Queer Networking event as part of Pride PEI's 2026 Festival. 

Members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and allies are invited to join an afternoon of drop-in, casual networking at The Arts Guild, 111 Queen Street, between 4:30-6 pm on Monday, July 27. This event is open to all job seekers, employers, entrepreneurs, and folks who want to meet new people or deepen connections. Panthers strengthen cross country roster with six new additions

The UPEI Panthers are adding depth, speed, and serious upside to the trails.

Head coach Mike Peterson has announced six new additions to the cross country program, bringing in a talented recruiting class from Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Québec.

The group includes Jacob Pozin, Isaac Boudreau, Adrian Sunderland, Cédrick Provencher, Claire Breau, and Abbie Carter—a mix of proven distance runners, emerging talent, and athletes with the potential to grow into key contributors for the Panthers.

Assessment Redesign Workshops, August 11-13

This workshop, presented by the Teaching and Learning Centre in three half-day sessions, will enable instructors to redesign an assessment so that it is aligned, authentic, inclusive, AI‑aware, and sustainable. We will pay particular attention to the ways assessment design constraints and choices, such as format, instructions, and grading processes/criteria, may affect students and instructors.  We will also focus on managing workload (of students, instructors, TAs), consistency, and transparency during the workshop.

L.M. Montgomery Institute at UPEI hosts 17th biennial international conference

The L.M. Montgomery Institute’s 17th biennial international conference, titled “L.M. Montgomery and Change,” is taking place on the UPEI campus from June 24 to 28.

Delegates from 16 countries are participating in the hybrid conference, which is co-chaired by Dr. Allison McBain Hudson, Visiting Scholar at the L.M. Montgomery Institute, and Dr Caroline Jones, past Visiting Scholar. About 125 registrants will attend in person, and another 40 online.

Presenters will consider the theme of change in the author’s works and world.
