In order to allow ITSS sufficient time to install new and upgraded software in student computer labs so that students have the software resources needed for the fall semester (September 2017), we must receive requests including any installation media (CDs, DVDs, etc.) and any related licensing information such as serial numbers before June 1, 2017. (NOTE: Software should be Windows 7 compatible and is required to be licensed as network installations, not for single workstations only.)

Email all requests to Stephen at smahar@upei.ca. Any requests received after June 1 will be applied in the next round of software updates. ITSS appreciates your co-operation.

Now that winter semester has ended, UPEI Security Services would like to remind the campus community that all designated permit parking lots and parking metres continue to be enforced year-round without exception. However, starting April 24th, permit enforcement is relaxed in general parking lots A, B General, D, and E until the fall semester begins in September. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

With Spring arriving, there have been some instances of residential waste finding its way into the University's waste bins and receptacles. UPEI Facilities Management reminds the campus community that the disposal and removal of waste on campus is strictly prohibited. Please dispose of residential waste according to the Island Waste Management Corporation's collection calendar and keep in mind that we do reduce, re-use and recycle, so please keep your garbage separated and in the appropriate places. UPEI will be upgrading its version of Moodle for the Spring and Summer semester. As of end of business hours on April 27, a new version of Moodle will be available via the myUPEI Portal or at the web address moodle.upei.ca. Spring courses that have been using the moodle31.upei.ca web address will be accessible on moodle.upei.ca following this change. Courses from previous semesters will be available on an archived version of the older Moodle, which can be accessed by pressing the "Old Moodle" link in the menu bar on moodle.upei.ca. Please note that some links may not function in Old Moodle because of the web address change. Students experiencing issues with Moodle are asked to notify their instructors so any necessary accommodations can be made. Faculty experiencing issues are asked to contact moodle@upei.ca.

Please note the UPEI Bookstore will be closed on Thursday, April 27 and Friday, April 28 to complete an annual inventory count. The store will re-open on Monday, May 1 at 8:30 am.

If you use Google Scholar either on-campus or off-campus, you may have previously used Settings - Library Links to see the "Check@UPEI" link to connect to our subscribed journal "holdings". Due to our switching to a new journal holdings lookup platform this month, that selection was removed by Google from your profile and you will need to go back into Scholar - Settings - Library Links to re-search for "UPEI" and select us to see the Check@UPEI link again.

Contact Melissa Belvadi, mbelvadi@upei.ca, or your subject librarian, if you have any questions about this.
