UPEI issued a notice by email via its UPEI SAFE app to the campus community, urging students, faculty, and staff to prepare for Hurricane Fiona.
The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the University of Prince Edward Island is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Honourable Eugene F. Whelan Green Hat Award.
Students from UPEI’s Kinesiology 3430 class are seeking participants to take part in a 4-week exercise training program, plus pre and post assessment sessions (6-weeks total). Students will create personalized exercise training programs for each participant, based on their fitness, skill level, and personal interests. The program will take place in the UPEI Fitness Centre, and costs $30 + HST.
Matthew Latimer and Shama Huda met Gizmo on a June day in 2014. Friends had told them about a little Shih-Tzu who was surrendered to a local rescue, and they wanted to meet him to see if he might be a good fit for their family.
The recipient of the 2022 Entomological Society of Canada (ESC) Gold Medal is Dr. Donna Giberson, Professor Emerita at the University of Prince Edward Island. The ESC Gold Medal recognizes outstanding achievement in Canadian entomology.

Some Hellish, the debut novel by Prince Edward Island writer Nicholas Herring, will be launched at a public event on Thursday, October 13, at 7:00 pm at The Gallery Coffee House and Bistro at 82 Great George Street in Charlottetown. Sponsored by the UPEI Faculty of Arts and Department of English, the book launch will feature short readings by Herring and a conversation with Richard Lemm, author and Atlantic Canadian literature professor at UPEI.
