Festive greetings and good wishes filled the air as guests were welcomed to the New Year’s Day Levee held by the University of Prince Edward Island and the UPEI Alumni Association on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering building.

The UPEI Board of Governors approved several changes to the international student tuition deposits, as recommended by the Finance and Audit Committee, for students who apply to UPEI after December 3, 2024.

Dr. Xander Wang, a professor in UPEI’s Applied Climate Change and Adaptation program and director of the UPEI Climate Smart Lab, has been awarded the prestigious American Geophysical Union’s (AGU) Charles S. Falkenberg Award for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of geospatial data visualization technology to increase public awareness of climate change.

Students in Dr. Stacey MacKinnon’s fourth-year Psychology of Good and Evil class wrapped up their fall semester by hosting a UPEI Pathways to Peace Day in late November in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre.

The University of Prince Edward Island held its 23rd Recognition of Founders ceremony on December 18, 2024. Recognized as 2024 Founders were Vickie Johnston, Dr. Michael Liu, and the Saint Dunstan’s University Board of Governors.

The University of Prince Edward Island is excited to welcome Jed Davies as the new head coach of the women’s and men’s soccer teams. Davies is a well-rounded coach with experience and success in youth development, and in university, professional, and international soccer.
