What brought you to UPEI? Why did you choose to study here?
My brother suggested the idea of studying abroad, and eventually, I decided to follow in his footsteps! I’m from Yavatmal, a city in the state of Maharashtra, located in the north-central part of India. I already had some family living in PEI, so I was familiar with the place. As I started learning more about UPEI, I found it really welcoming, especially through YouTube videos and student stories. From day one, it felt like a place where I could truly grow.
Teaching and Learning Centre coffee break: Communicating Expectations
As instructors, setting clear and consistent course expectations is an impactful way to support student learning and engagement. This TLC coffee break will offer actionable strategies for communicating expectations like developing inclusive syllabi and stimulating open discourse in the classroom. We will explore how calibrating expectations with learning outcomes, using inclusive language, and encouraging student feedback can strengthen the learning environment. Faculty will benefit from fewer misunderstandings and stronger classroom relationships when expectations are clear.
