Meet Bridget Patterson, fourth-year Sustainable Design Engineering student

What brought you to UPEI? Why did you choose to study here?

UPEI was an attractive option for my post-secondary studies due to its smaller class sizes and greater opportunities for interaction with the instructors and staff. The Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering provides an incredibly welcoming environment for new students while providing a truly unique program.

Meet Farnaz Farnaghi, third-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student

What brought you to UPEI? Why did you choose to study here?

After completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Ontario, I was ready for a change in scenery to complete my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and I thought that Prince Edward Island would be the perfect place. I was attracted to the beauty of the Island and the small class sizes at the Atlantic Veterinary College.

Meet Maggie Leclair, UPEI Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemistry graduate

What brought you to UPEI? Why did you choose to study here?

I wanted to choose a university where the professors cared about their students' success. I heard from many former UPEI students that professors in the Chemistry department took pride in getting to know each student and genuinely wanted them to do well. After my amazing New Student Orientation experience, I knew immediately that I had chosen the right university!

Meet Prabhakar Bholah, fifth-year Sustainable Design Engineering student

What brought you to UPEI? Why did you choose to study here?

I'm originally from Mauritius but I have always dreamt of studying abroad. When I met a UPEI adviser at a recruitment fair and discovered the Sustainable Design Engineering program and the work I could do in mechatronics, it really fit my interests in robotics, machines, and aviation. It was more appealing for me to come to UPEI than other Canadian universities.

SEASON PREVIEW: UPEI Cross Country looking for big results in historic season

UPEI Cross Country Head Coach Mike Peterson has worked hard to build a sustainable program rich with talented runners. And, even with some slight changes to the line-up this season, the Panthers feel confident for a bright future.

During the off-season, both the men’s and women’s teams lost key runners Dan Maguire and all-star Paige Chisholm. Peterson said he’s ready to hand the reins over to his young runners who are poised to take those next steps in their athletic careers.
