Charlotte Branchflower and Ehab Moustafa named Panther Subway Athletes of the Week
Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and dedication to their respective sports. This week’s UPEI Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for October 18 to 24 are Charlotte Branchflower (women’s rugby) and Ehab Moustafa (men’s soccer).
Dr. Robert “Bob” A. Curtis inducted into the Atlantic Agricultural Hall of Fame
The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) is pleased to announce the induction posthumously of Dr. Robert “Bob” A. Curtis (1931–2019) to the Atlantic Agricultural Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony took place on Thursday, October 21 in Truro, Nova Scotia and was attended by members of Dr. Curtis’ family, as well as Dr. Dan Hurnik, professor of swine health management, AVC at University of Prince Edward Island.

Furthering Digital Accessibility: Exploring Pathways to Reaching Full Awareness

Abstract: This presentation introduces the author’s interest in the topic, quickly pols the audience on their knowledge of Digital Accessibility, provides background information on statistics and legislation, and then presents basic Digital Accessibility Guidelines regarding alt text, headings, meaningful links, tables and PowerPoint. If time allows, a basic “inaccessible” document is provided for the audience to practice with in applying the guidelines. References and resources are provided.
UPEI professor to give presentation about Guaranteed Basic Income
Professor Louis Doiron, Director of the Actuarial Science and Financial Mathematics programs at UPEI, will give a virtual presentation on Wednesday, October 27, at 3:00 p.m., about the feasibility and costing of implementing a Guaranteed Basic Income Program in Canada.
