The Mickey Place Memorial Basketball Tournament begins on Friday, October 12, 2018 with six men's basketball teams competing in the annual three-day event. The Panthers will open the tournament Friday night at 8pm against the Regina Cougars. Saturday at 8pm, UPEI plays host to the McMaster Marauders. The Panthers wrap up the weekend on Sunday at 12 pm against the Humber Hawks. The tournament is named after John Thomas “Mickey” Place, a long-time friend of Panther sport, a former UPEI student union employee, and a UPEI honorary degree recipient.
