UPEI's Wheel n' Win Fundraising Event
UPEI and CPA PEI would like you to participate in this year’s Canadian Paraplegic Association’s "Wheel & Win" fundraising event taking place on Thursday, October 20th, 2011 at 4:00pm at the UPEI Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre.
This is a disability awareness, team relay, pledge sheet fundraising event. Bring your team on event day and compete in the exciting wheelchair challenge. Teams of five have fun and race against the clock and each other through an obstacle course using a wheelchair.
One hundred percent of the money raised through this event remains in PEI and is used to assist people with spinal cord injuries and other mobility disabilities to purchase equipment that has no other funding source. This helps relieve some of the financial burden associated with disabilities which assists people to remain independent in their community.
Thank you for your consideration and please contact Evan or Paul at 902.370.9523 or emackinnon@cpapei.org for more details., pcudmore@cpapei.org

"82%" Comes To UPEI
Faculty members from the University 100 program would like to invite all
members of the UPEI community to attend an educational theater experience
taking place on campus this month. "82%" is The Responsible Gambling
Council's latest drama. It poignantly explores some of the non-monetary
costs facing a young adult and those around him when his gambling gets out
of control. The performance uses professional young actors and age-specific
language and messaging, incorporating insights from extensive research and
real-life anecdotes designed to address the risks associated with youth
gambling.
There are two performances taking place on campus and both are open to all
students, faculty and staff. The first is on Tuesday, October 25th at 2:30
pm in the Steele Recital Hall and the second is on Wednesday, October 26th
at 11:30 am in McMillan Hall, in the Murphy Student Center. Please join us
for what is sure to be a powerful performance.
