The UPEI Career Services team would like to invite organizations to participate in the annual UPEI Volunteer Fair. This year's fair will be held on Wednesday September 12, 2018 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, in the W. A. Murphy Student Centre, McMillan Hall. Students bring a wealth of energy, interests and experiences to volunteering. Often students would like to volunteer but are unsure about how to proceed. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to learn about becoming a volunteer.
Space at the Fair is limited, and registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis. However, this is an open invitation, and we wish to invite as many organizations as possible from across PEI to give them the opportunity to register and take part. Please feel free to forward this invitation to other volunteer organizations in your network. The registration deadline is August 28, 2018. Registration is free. You can register for the Volunteer Fair by clicking on the link below: https://goo.gl/forms/FrgzcCcrpZYnf5YI3

The final presentations for ProGRES (Promoting Girls in Research in Engineering and Sustainability) at the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering will be this Friday, August 10, from 9 AM to 12 noon, in the FSDE Design Studio 202.
This is the second summer for the ProGRES Program, initiated in 2017 to promote engineering research and interest among young women in high school. Through ProGRES, high school girls in Grades 11 and 12 had the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge research projects independently with faculty researchers and women student mentors, and the ProGRES students also met many women engineers in various industrial sectors in our province. ProGRES also encourages creative, independent, and analytical thinking and challenges talented high-school young women (who are thinking about what to do for university and the future) to develop how they learn, design, communicate, and interact in an academic Engineering environment that is welcoming, disciplined and research-intensive. ProGRES participants are expected also to share their experiences with the public and their peers in the following school year, with the hope their positive voice will encourage other young women to choose Engineering at UPEI and as a career.
The invitation can be found on the ProGRES students' blog here or at their Facebook page.
All are welcomed!
