An Evening with Indigenous Poets from Epekwitk
The UPEI Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS), the Faculty of Arts, and the English department, in collaboration with the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, are sponsoring an evening of Indigenous poets from Epekwitk (PEI) reading selections from their poetry and conversing about their work as Indigenous writers. The event will take place at the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre on Queen Street at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22.

UPEI Department of Music presents ‘Autumn Colours’ recital on November 12
The UPEI Department of Music will present a faculty recital, Autumn Colours, on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 7:30 pm, in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, Steel Building.
The recital was originally planned for October 1 but was postponed because of the impact of post-tropical storm Fiona.
String players Jeffrey Bazett-Jones (viola), Sean Kemp (violin), and Natalie Williams Calhoun (cello) will collaborate with Magdalena von Eccher (piano) and Karem Simon (clarinet) in presenting this chamber music recital of trios by Mozart, Stravinsky, and Brahms.
Remembering F. Alan Reesor: A celebration of his life in music
A memorial service in honour of F. Alan Reesor, faculty member in the UPEI Department of Music from 1970–1997, will be held at St. Peter's Cathedral on Rochford Street in Charlottetown, on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at 2:30 pm. Alan forged an international reputation as an organist, choral director, and musicologist and was awarded the title of professor emeritus at UPEI in 1998.
SEASON PREVIEW: New-look UPEI Women’s Basketball Panthers ready to prove themselves
While much has changed regarding roster construction, the UPEI Women’s Basketball Panthers want to prove that they can still be among the AUS elite in 2022–23.
The Panthers lost graduates Jenna Mae Ellsworth, Reese Baxendale, and Carolina Del Santo, who all contributed significantly to the program. Now it’s up to the next wave of Panthers, like Lauren Rainford and Alicia Bowering, to leave their own mark.
Head coach Matt Gamblin believes the current group learned a lot from those former players and their shared experiences.
High school students invited to UPEI Fall Open House 2022
The UPEI Recruitment and First Year Advisement team is hosting a Fall Open House on Friday, November 4, 2022, from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. High school students interested in pursuing studies at UPEI are invited to attend.
The event kicks off in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre where students will receive booklets with an itinerary for the morning. Students are then invited to attend an information session for the faculty of their choice. There will also be information sessions about programs and services available to students as well as campus and residence tours.

A well-known Canadian and PEI entrepreneur with deep Island roots is the subject of Gary MacDougall's latest book, published by RetroMedia Publishing.

The Department of Physics invites the public to visit the Earl L. Wonnacott Observatory for a look through our telescope. Drop by Room 417 in Memorial Hall between 7:00 and 9:00 pm on Thursday, November 10, to wait for your turn to head up to our rooftop observatory.

Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation hosts successful Open House
UPEI’s Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation in St. Peter’s Bay hosted a public Open House on Friday, October 21, 2022. Members of the public were invited to tour the 45,000-square-foot facility, which houses the UPEI School of Climate Change and Adaptation, the UPEI Climate Lab, and state-of-the-art research centres of excellence, including the Centre of Excellence in Food Security and Sustainability.
Atlantic Veterinary College | Virtual Admissions Session
The Atlantic Veterinary College is pleased to offer a virtual admissions session on Thursday, November 3 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. ADT via Zoom for all prospective students currently enrolled in a pre-veterinary program, society, or club, or those who have the intention of pursuing veterinary medicine in the future. Prospective students will have the opportunity to learn more about the AVC admissions process, life as a student at AVC, opportunities in veterinary medicine, and will be able to ask questions to experts on the panel.
